I think I've quoted this before but I'll break it up a bit.
Matthew 15:22-26=== 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."
24 He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."
25 The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said.
26 He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs." ===
Is it really weird that Africans, Asians, and even Europeans think that Jesus would have performed a miracle for them; they aren't one of the lost sheep of Israel. However you choose to interpret "lost sheep of Israel", it clearly doesn't include Canaanites, and Jesus is clearly a merciless asshole. I am really willing to bet that "lost sheep of Israel" would not have included Koreans, Ghanaians, or Italians either. This is why I'm sick of everyone idolizing Jesus just because it's expected of them, without reading Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Jesus was meant to be the hero of a small group of Israelis in the early first millenium; it was never expected to be propagated by the world's largest empire and soon spread to the entire world. It was also expected that the end times would happen before 2,000 years went by.
